Software Engineer

Want to join the brightest minds in computer graphics, led by the industry stalwart responsible for hyper-realistic VFX in Hollywood? Do you want to bring that technology to the masses to empower a local studio into delivering Hollywood grade CGI in media and gaming at a fraction of the cost?

Lumirithmic is an Imperial College spin-out seeking talented engineers to join our growing team with a focus on enhancing our product. We are funded and already working with clients across a variety of industries, including VFX studios, video game publishers, beauty-tech and advertising-tech companies.

You will be expected to handle more than development related tasks, and actively participate in brainstorming solutions and speaking to client developers when the need arises. We work as a flat hierarchy so you will have the freedom to own, contribute and develop our core services. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing software which will allow us to take our product to market
  • Proactively identify and tackle technical issues
  • Assisting in the refinement of system architecture
  • Using best practices to enable high-quality, maintainable code
  • Collaborating closely with technical and non-technical counterparts to understand customers’ problems and plan solutions with the product owner.

Technical Requirements

  • A Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related subjects at a reputed university
  • General understanding of Computer Graphics / Computer Vision
  • Commercial product development with 2+ year of experience in one or more of the following
    • Unity3D engine with game development experience in C#
    • Unreal engine with game development experience in C++
    • Windows + Backend development C#/UWP/WPF/ASP.NET
    • Mobile + Backend app development in Xamarin + ASP.NET Core
    • Cloud development with Microservices on AWS / Azure / DigitalOcean

SDLC Skills

  • OOP / Patterns / Functional programming fundamentals
  • State management and sync using REST / SQL / GraphQL
  • OS level scripting knowledge in Powershell / Bash / Python
  • Software engineering practices with knowledge in
    • Git based workflow
    • DevOps / CI-CD
    • Clean code / Unit testing

Optional Skills (One or more)

  • Python development with AI/ML
  • Graphics API knowledge (Vulkan / DirectX / Metal)
  • 3D tools like Blender or Maya / 2D tools like Photoshop
  • C/C++ experience for embedded and systems programming
  • App development experience using Swift/Kotlin/Flutter
  • Knowledge of Computational / Raw Photography techniques

Soft Skills Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organize own work in sprint sessions and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Documentation skills to contribute to company Wiki and report findings
  • Team player
